flashback

For the last few days, I've been having some of the strangest flashbacks--random memories come to mind . . . and without me even thinking about anything related to them at all. For example, I was getting ready for work this morning, and I suddenly remembered standing in a store in Holden Beach, North Carolina, looking at rafts. The smells, colors, everything came back to me. I think the store was called "BeachMart." I could be wrong. Perhaps a family can correct me. But I was probably 12 the last time I was there.

Sometime while at work today I had another one, but now I forget what it was.

But just now, as I was editing a book, I suddenly remembered standing in Dale & Kathy George's hallway, in their house on Douglas Ave. Such a long time ago! I remembered the big closet under the stairs with the giant Mickey Mouse in it. And Thadd's little room with the light blue curtains that my mom made (didn't she make them?). Noah's Ark, right? How long ago was this? So weird. And absolutely out of nowhere.

Does this mean my life is flashing before my eyes? Oh no. It must be that whole approaching-25 phenomenon.

Am I the only one that has these random flashbacks?

I feel like Sydney on Alias . . . just catching brief glimpses of my past. I hope this isn't erased memory trying to fight its way back.
