Last night, I had a very random but realistic dream in which I was explaining to some of my family members that there is a water crisis in Africa. This evening, I spotted an ad for Tap Project, a great program sponsored by UNICEF, that focuses on helping children who need clean and accessible water in Africa. Coincidentally, the program begins today (it's possible that I am a little prophetic!) and ends on Saturday, March 22nd.
Basically, all you have to do to participate is go out to eat and pay $1 for the tap water that you usually get for free. For every $1 you give, a child will be supplied with water for 40 days.
For more information concerning Tap Project and to find a list of participating restaurants in your area, click here!
For those of you who live in Boulder . . . here are a few of my favorite participating restaurants:
Jax Fish House
Sherpa's
Hapa
Dushanbe Teahouse
Burnt Toast
Centro
The West End Tavern
Tibet's
