I realize it's technically spring, but it certainly feels as though summertime has arrived. Though the nights are pretty cool, I'm already sleeping with all windows open, hoping to offset the sweltering daytime temperature of my upstairs apartment. Oh, how I'm dreading July.
But overall, I love summertime here . . . the farmers' market, festivals, late nights on our front porch, and concerts at Chautauqua Park and Red Rocks. These are a few of my favorite things.
On Wednesday night, I attended my first Red Rocks show of the summer with Rusty and his roommate Greg. We saw Rogue Wave and Death Cab for Cutie. (Thanks to Aubrea for the ticket!) The show was a lot of fun, and both bands sounded amazing. For photos, see Rusty's blog.
Later this summer, I'll be seeing My Morning Jacket at Red Rocks. Can't wait! And hopefully I'll be seeing Jack Johnson. The show is sold out, but I'm trying to scrounge up a couple of tickets . . . and convince Erin to come back out to see him with me. :) Wish me luck.
Also, I have a ticket for the Mile High Festival, where Tom Petty is playing . . . but I might have to skip out on it for another conflicting event. We'll see.
As for other plans . . . might take a trip to northern California with Shauna sometime in July or August, and I might be going home to Ohio in July for my granddad's 80th birthday party.
And Shauna and I might become millionaires once we announce our newest get-rich scheme . . . Sound intriguing? Check my blog this Thursday for more info!
