if you love something . . . set it on fire

On Friday night, Shauna, Niles, and I attended an art gallery featuring the work of local artist, Matthew Doubek. I immediately fell in love with this piece, which was titled, "If You Love Something . . . Set It on Fire." Unfortunately, I don't have $375 to spend on art at the moment . . . maybe in 5 years or so.

Also, I'd like to point out that there were children at the gallery. Their parents are obviously doing something right.

P.S. Thanks, Rusty, for introducing me to the work of Mr. Doubek. (Check out Rusty's write-up on Doubek here.)

I have surveyed all the things that I love in my mind and I don't think that there is one of them that I would set on fire. I don't get it. MOM

I don't really get it either, but I think it might be a play on the phrase, "If you love something, set it free."

What's with the "dogman" on the wall? I guess I have no mind at all for modern art. MOM

Oh-- and the children all huddled in the corner might be frightened of the "dogman." MOM

I'm not sure what's up wtih the dogman. I think he's wearing a toupe though. :)

I think the kids liked the dog. They seemed to be enjoying themselves. :)
