Today I dug out the scrapbook/photo album I created after returning from my trip to England and Scotland in May 2002. Not really sure why I crawled into my freezing cold, sort of terrifying storage room to retrieve it . . . I guess I'm just aching to see more of the world and my photos remind me of what it's like to do so.
Anyway, I came across a couple of photos I took at Scott's View, which is (from what I recall) somewhere just outside of Edinburgh. This particular place along the Scottish countryside was the famous novelist Sir Walter Scott's favorite view. Apparently, every time he drove his carriage along the road, he stopped to take in the gorgeous landscape. On the day of his funeral, as his horses drew the carriage carrying his body past the spot, they paused as if giving their master one final glance. Nice story, huh?
As I thought about this story today, I attempted to determine what my favorite view is . . . I'm having trouble nailing one down.
So I'll open up the discussion . . . What's your favorite view?
If you have one, post a comment . . . and if you're really into this whole blog participation thing, send me a photo of it and I'll post it.

wow, these photos look like paintings!
Scenes of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the Hawaiian Island of Kuaui are my favorite views. Closer to home I would have to say the creek that follows the bike trail is a favorite. It's very peaceful there, and even closer to home-- I would have to say our back yard would do nicely. Your pictures are very beautiful. Mom
