I had been planning on doing laundry tonight, but after spending a shaky, nervous hour in the car on the icy drive home, I decided not to venture out again after getting here safely. Instead, I stopped at Blockbuster and the grocery store on the way back to my house and spent the evening feeling rather lazy.As I sat on my couch, watching a movie, computer on my lap, I started thinking about the things in my life that have made me happy lately.
Here are a few:
1. Friends I never get sick of. These are the people that I can spend hours and hours with and never once find myself longing for the moment when I can be by myself again. I have several of them, and I'm very thankful.
2. Tom Petty (especially Tom Petty with beard). How cool was he last night?
3. Puppies. Yes, I love puppies. No, I do not want one. I played with one last night, and I fell in love.
4. The 3.6 oz. containers of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. So delicious. So fulfilling. And they prevent me from eating too much. (Oh, and they even come with a spoon. Geniuses.)
5. Organic milk. Seriously, it tastes better. Thank you, Horizon.
6. Polaroids -- way better than digital.
7. Soundtracks. I think it might be my dream job to be the person who gets to choose music for a tv show/movie.
8. Blockbuster by Mail. It's so cheap and easy!
9. RSS feeds. Yes, this is the nerdiest of them all, but I just started using them in conjunction with my mail program, and I have to say that it saves me a lot of time. Now my computer tells me when you update your blog! By the way, it's been awhile.
10. Letters in the mail. Need I say more?
11. Lost. It's back, and I'm more confused than ever -- confused in a "I-missed-being-this-confused-over-the-past-eight-months kind of way."
11.5. Lostpedia. This site makes me feel like a normal person -- "normal," meaning that I don't spend ALL day long thinking about Lost . . . just all day long reading the thoughts of others' about Lost.
