I welcomed the new year with a few old friends and a lot of new ones at a random party just outside of Boulder. About 80% of the people in attendance were from the great state of Ohio, so though I didn't know them, I felt a special kinship with them, as they randomly shouted "O-H-I-O" in unison throughout the night.
New Year's Day was spent lying around, eating pork chops and sauerkraut (for good luck) and watching football.
This weekend I attempted to recover from my cold by relaxing and hanging out with some friends.
And today was surprisingly productive. I finally took down the Christmas decorations, said goodbye to our sad little tree, and attempted to make chili. In honor of Ohio (particularly Cincy), I added cinnamon and chocolate, and in honor of my friend Rusty who thinks everything should have beer in it, I added approximately 8 ounces of New Belgium's 1554 -- the "englightened black ale." And, of course, I made a gigantic batch of buckeyes for tomorrow night's big game. Go bucks!
I'm still trying to determine my goals for 2008, but I think it will involve saving more money and figuring out what it is that I would actually like to do with my life.
We'll see! Looking forward to finding out where 2008 will take me!
