weird day

Today was just weird.

I went to the library to work, and the guy next to me was creating a techno mix on his computer, using part of a speech by George W. Bush. Over and over and over, I heard our president's voice saying, "Democracy is for peaceful nations. De-de-de-moc-moc-racy is for-for-for peaceful-peaceful na-nations"--all to a techno beat. I'm almost positive the guy is probably going to use it for some kind of anti-war rally or something.

Later I ran into an acquaintance that I hadn't seen in a few months. She didn't remember my name, so she said, "Eliza, right?"
"No, Mandy."
"Oh, that's right, Mindy."
"Sure. Whatever."

And it is -5 degrees right now. Yes, -5 with a windchill of -21. And this week it's supposed to be in the 40s and 50s. How does the temperature change so drastically? I don't get it.

Oh well . . . it all keeps me entertained in the midst of suffocating under piles and piles of work. Deadlines are coming quickly. I'm thinking about asking God to make the days longer. He did it that one time. Why not now?
